Twins win in 10, still in hunt for title

YAKIMA - Pitcher Danny Robinson and the defense kept the game deadlocked for seven innings, and finally the Lewis-Clark Twins won it in the 10th inning.
AJ Davis scored from third on Chase Adkison's walk-off single, which gave L-C a 2-1 victory over Northwest Crimson of Auburn, Wash., on Saturday in the Yakima Wood Bat Tournament.
The Twins (4-0 in the tournament, 24-7 overall) are one of three teams that could win the title today. Their matchup today wasn't available at press time
Robinson entered in the third and pitched until the end of the game, giving up just four hits during that time. Plus, the Twins' defense was "incredible," coach Kevin Maurer said.
"Most of our season, our offense has really carried the slack," he said. "These last two games, pitching and defense has really led the way."
The Twins scored a run in the first when Davis doubled and eventually came home on an error. But after that, they only generated a few scoring chances. Their efforts were foiled by 16 flyouts.
But in the 10th - the game was scheduled to go seven innings - Davis was hit by a pitch and stole second to get a threat going. Jaden Phillips then walked and Luke White hit a ball that was dropped by the right fielder to load the bases. Adkison then delivered his walk-off blow.
