KENNEWICK, Wash. - Having dropped their first two games of the tournament, the Lewis-Clark Cubs rebounded with back-to-back wins over Lakeside and Southridge on Sunday at the Duster Bowl.
Lewis-Clark started quickly in the opening game to wrap up an 11-2 victory in five innings via mercy rule, then overcame a slow start in the second game to surge from 0-1 after three innings to 6-1 in the final tally.
"I'm really proud of the way we played the game today," said Lewis-Clark coach Ramon Royce. "It just seemed like we collectively as a team had a solid attitude and just played well as a whole team. We put it all together where we pitched it well, played defensively, and had some good hitting too - timely hitting."
The Cubs advance to the final four out of a 14-team field. They compete in the semifinals today at noon.
