"I feel like we've gelled as a team, and we came together today and just did a phenomenal job playing as a team," said Lewis-Clark coach Ramon Royce.
"That first game Tyson Wallace pitched his tail off," he continued. "We got some huge hitting from Tui Moliga."
Moliga led the Cubs at bat, delivering three hits - including a home run - in the first game, then two more in the second.
Lewis-Clark trailed 3-5 through six innings against the Blue Devils, but managed two runs in the seventh to tie the contest at 5-5 at the end of regulation, then two more in the eighth to pull past their rivals.
Royce credited "clutch hitting" from Bill Alspach and Jason Hanchett for pulling the Cubs through to victory. Hanchett hit the game-ending single for a walk-off win.
"It was good to see them battle and compete hard," Royce concluded.
The Cubs return to the field today at 6 p.m. against Centennial.
