MISSOULA, Mont. - The Lewis-Clark Twins beat Gonzaga Prep 15-1 to start their day, but then fell to the Missoula Mavericks 3-1. That outcome handed L-C its first loss of the Missoula Mavericks tournament, which will continue its round-robin play today with the Twins facing the Central Washington Spuds at 9 a.m. PDT.
The Twins, who are 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the tournament, are still alive to earn a berth in Sunday's title game and "control our own destiny," coach Kevin Maurer said.
In their win over the Bullpups to start the day, the Twins got an inside the park home run from Chase Adkison, "a pretty cool thing," Maurer said. "You don't see that too often."
