L-C Twins 8, Spokane Cannons 6 MISSOULA, Mont. - The Twins' rip-roaring offense came alive in the fourth inning and the Lewis-Clark pitchers were able to hold off a late rally from the Spokane Cannons to come away with another win at the Missoula Mavericks Memorial Tournament. Following three scoreless innings, the Twins posted two runs apiece in the fourth and fifth innings, then etched out four more in the sixth for an 8-3 lead. Spokane followed with three in the bottom of the seventh, but L-C closer Riley Way shut down any further danger to secure the win. "We weren't ready to hit early," Twins coach Kyle Blackwell said, noting his team changed its approach midway through the game when it began to put runs on the board. "We had some lineouts but for the most part we took some fastballs early in the count that we should've been able to whack." Jake Munoz did his fair share of whacking with three hits, including a double, in the game. Way, Josh Moore, Julian Washburn, Danny Robinson and Kolt Olson each had two hits. Luke White slugged a home run for the visitors. The Twins continue tournament play at 8:30 a.m. PDT against the Bitterroot (Mont.) Red Sox.
