Julian Washburn played in our legion program for 4 years, his final year winning Idaho state, Region 7, and went to the American Legion World Series where he threw a 9 inning shutout in the opening round. He then went and played at Walla Walla Community College for 1 year, and on to the University of San Francisco where he pitched for 4 years.
While pitching at Walla Walla Community College, he made 11 appearances with eight starts as a freshman in 2018 ... Had a near-3-to-1 strikeouts-to-walks ratio with 54 Ks and only 19 walks in 54 innings pitched. Julian played his prep ball at Lewiston High School, graduating in 2017 ... Was a two-way threat for the Bengals as a senior, posting a 5-1 record and 0.73 ERA on the mound while hitting .385 with five doubles and 18 RBIs ... Helped lead Lewiston High to the Idaho High School Activities Association 5A playoffs, reaching the consolation final. At the University of San Francisco, Julian began his sophomore year with an 8-0 record, and won the program’s Newcomer of the Year award. At USF, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History, and is currently attending LCSC to receive his teaching certificate.
He says that he is excited to share all of the knowledge he learned at the Division 1 level with the local up-and-coming players.
